Jared Stein, Musical Director

Jared Stein is a music educator, composer, spiritual songleader, and professional acoustic folk/rock artist. He runs the Instrumental Music program at New Community Jewish High School and is Head Songleader/Songwriter-in-Residence for Camp Alonim in the summers. A multi-instrumentalist originally from Washington D.C., Jared is dedicated to growing the wealth of new Jewish music, by combining his eclectic musical influences, including jazz, rock, bluegrass, American folk, gypsy and classical, with his love for traditional middle-eastern, klezmer, and sephardic sounds.  He is a proverbial jack-of-all-trades when it comes to musical performance, including violin-beatboxing and yodeling. He has appeared on televised concert specials and has played and recorded with many notable artists, including Theodore Bikel, Daniel Bedingfield, Craig Taubman, Yuval Ron, Moshav, Joshua Nelson, Mike Stein and more. He currently writes and/or performs with his wife, Jamie Stein, Mikey Pauker and the Joymachine, his family band, "The Rolling Steins," The Nashuva Band, Minyan Kol Chai, and The Stein Brothers.
